Promised Land

Getting the garden in late was better than nothing.

Driving to the nearest store was a 35 to 40 minute trip down two lane roads.

My first batch of barnyard chickens. Eighty-two chicks take up a minimal amount of space. (A few may be out of the photo in the front corner.)

I would move them around in batches by laundry basket to take them outside to enjoy the grass and sun under a watchful eye.

Very few commercial chickens get to experience direct sunlight or grass. Chickens love being outside. I wanted my chickens raised in a natural environment. It is what is right for the lives of the bird.
